Business Development Manager (w/m/d)
The primary objective of the ALS Sales Organisation is to promote the growth of ALS Customs Services through the development of new business. ALS is looking for aggressive “hunter” field sales professionals who will be responsible for selling Customs Clearance and Consulting / Compliance solutions to meet sales targets and generate new revenue within the territory. The Business Development Manager will develop new customers by prospecting and responding to business development leads. In addition, the sales professional will actively monitor and review customer sales activity and actively collaborate with other departments within the organisation both on a national and international basis.
What you can expect
- You will be responsible for researching and identifying new business opportunities - including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, or new ways of reaching existing markets
- You will create and maintain an active pipeline of new business, as well as generate leads, cold call prospective customers and meet with clients face to face or by conference call
- Moreover, you will maintain an active diary of customer meetings, events, trade shows, while fostering and developing relationships with clients to understand their needs and be able to respond effectively
- You will attain budgeted sales and financial targets according to the company`s strategic plan
- As a member of the sales team, you think strategically – see the bigger picture and set aims and objectives in order to develop and improve the business
- Finally, you will collaborate on promotional strategy and activities with the marketing department alongside liaising with the finance team, operations and management as appropriate
What you bring
- You have gained strong experience in sales within the Logistics / Customs or related industry, consistently achieving and surpassing targets and objectives
- Furthermore, you display positive, self-motivated and pro-active attitude, and possess exceptional communication abilities, effectively delivering presentations and showcasing your ideas
- You are results-driven, able to work independently and collaboratively with various stakeholders to identify and convert growth opportunities with both existing and new clients
- Additionally, you exhibit a strong sense of dedication and commitment, adapting seamlessly to dynamic and fast-paced work settings
- You have excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products
- You have the right to work in the UK
