Deal! A free trade agreement between the EU and the UK was concluded at the last minute. But what does this mean for you and your trade? Many companies had hoped that the agreement would also reduce the administrative burden, but this is not the case. Although customs duties will be dropped if the preferential requirements of the free trade agreement are met, there are now customs borders between the EU and the UK. Tax and customs registrations therefore remain a prerequisite, as does the preparation of customs applications for the import and export of goods.
Particularly with regard to the use of the preferential treatment granted by the FTA, companies must pay attention to the fact that for an export with a value of more than € 6,000, the company must have the status of registered exporter (REX).
